Welcome to Skiatook!

As someone new to the Skiatook family, I would just like to say how welcoming the members of this church have been. My family began it’s ministry here in june and we have been overwhelmed by the hospitality of the people.

I know what you’re thinking, “of course they are going to welcome the new preacher. But what about the rest of us?” Well I am here to tell you that you odn’t have to look very far to see Christian Hospitality for everyone here at FUMC Skiatook.

Our hospitality is demonstrated by our commitment to missions. FUMC Skiatook has a long relationship with United Methodist church of Bolivia and annually goes there on a mission trip. FUMC also reaches out in mission to the city of Skiatook, through its after school program, School supply drive, and support of the SEAC. The youth group are involved in mission too, attending the conference mission trip Youth Force.

The hospitality of FUMC church can be seen in its worship. We have two services, one at 8:30 that features an upbeat modern style, and another at 10:50 which is more traditional. Sunday School for all ages is available in between. You might even find a cup of coffee and some good fellowship.

Worship during advent and lent take on a special meaning to us. These seasons of the church year help us renew our commitment to God’s Kingdom and following Christ.

The hospitality of our church can also be seen in our theology. Anyone who is searching, which includes us all, can find a home here for their church. Take a look at our theological statement and seven principles. See if you might be able to join our search for answers.

We won’t and don’t turn any one away. We believe that what is in your heart can only help our hearts grow.

I hope anyone searching for a church home and happens to come across our website will give our church a try. You may just decide that our hospitality, fits you just right.

Grace and Peace,

Norm Wasson
